Terms of Use

These terms cover the Vessly apps for iOS and Android and this website. They are written to be read, not just agreed to. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you rely on it.

1. Who these terms are between #

These terms are an agreement between you and GenX Development ("we", "us"), the publisher of Vessly. They apply to the Vessly app for iOS, the Vessly app for Android, and this website. By installing or using Vessly you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

On iOS, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app itself; see the EULA page. Where these terms and that EULA differ, the EULA governs the licence to the app and these terms govern the Vessly services (Fleet, AI Mechanic and this website).

2. Accounts and age #

You do not need an account to use Vessly on your own. All individual features work without signing in, offline, on your phone.

An account is required only for Vessly Fleet. You sign in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your e-mail address. Keep access to that e-mail address and your device secure; you are responsible for what is done through your account until you tell us it has been compromised.

You must be at least 13 years old (16 where local law requires) to create a Fleet account. Vessly is not directed to children.

3. Subscriptions, trials and refunds #

The core of Vessly is free. Two optional subscriptions unlock more:

  • Vessly Pro — a yearly auto-renewing subscription, sold in sizes by number of boats
  • Vessly Fleet — a monthly auto-renewing subscription priced by the number of boats in the fleet; crew members pay nothing

Each subscription starts with a 14-day free trial where offered by the store. The price for your country and the exact renewal date are shown in the App Store or Google Play before you confirm. We do not show prices on this page because the store is the source of truth.

Renewal and cancellation. Subscriptions are purchased through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) and renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You manage or cancel them in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, not in the app; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Refunds follow the refund policies of Apple and Google; we cannot issue refunds for purchases made through the stores.

Restoring purchases. A subscription bought with one store account can be restored on another device signed in to the same store account. A Fleet subscription is also recognised on every device where you sign in to your Fleet account.

If a subscription ends, Pro features lock again but your data stays on your phone. For Fleet, see section 4.

4. Vessly Fleet #

Fleet lets an owner share boats with crew, assign tasks and keep everyone's phone in sync. A fleet (organisation) is created and paid for by its owner.

The owner is responsible for the fleet: for inviting only people who should see its boats, for choosing their roles, for the accuracy and lawfulness of the data entered into it, and for informing crew that their name and their entries are visible to the other members. Fleet may be used commercially, for example by a yacht management or charter company, within these terms.

Crew data. When someone joins a fleet, they agree that the entries they add stay with the fleet after they leave and that their name is then shown as "Former member". Members see each other's display names and, where an invitation was sent by e-mail, that e-mail address. The owner may hide amounts (costs) from crew; hidden amounts are not delivered to those members.

Boat limit. A Fleet subscription covers a set number of boats. Boats above the limit are never locked, hidden or deleted; adding new ones stops until the plan is enlarged.

Ending a subscription. If payment fails, the fleet keeps working for a grace period, then becomes read-only; if you cancel voluntarily, it becomes read-only at the end of the paid period. Fleet data is never deleted because a subscription ended. The owner can export everything at any time.

Deleting the owner's account dissolves the fleets they own, together with their data and photos, for every member. Export first if anyone needs the records.

5. Your content and your data #

Everything you enter into Vessly — boats, records, photos, documents, notes — is yours. We claim no ownership of it. You grant us only the limited right to store, copy and transmit it to the extent needed to provide the features you use (for example, syncing a fleet or forwarding an AI Mechanic question).

You can take your data with you at any time: PDF and CSV exports and the backup file are free in every plan. You are responsible for keeping a backup; see the Privacy Policy for how backups work and what we can and cannot see.

You are responsible for having the right to store what you enter, including photos of other people and information about boats you do not own.

6. AI Mechanic #

AI Mechanic gives a first opinion on a fault, based on your description and your own boat's log. It is produced by a language model and can be wrong, incomplete or outdated. The app says this under every answer:

AI suggestions are guidance, not a substitute for a professional marine service.

Treat it that way. AI Mechanic is information, not a diagnosis, inspection or instruction, and it does not replace the manufacturer's manual, a qualified marine engineer or a surveyor. Anything that affects safety — fuel systems, gas, electrical, steering, through-hulls and anything below the waterline — must be checked and carried out by a professional. Decisions about whether a boat is safe to use are yours alone.

Usage is limited to 15 messages a month on Free and 30 on Pro; the limit for Fleet is shown in the app. We may change the model, the limits or the availability of AI Mechanic, and may suspend it if our provider is unavailable or the service is abused.

7. Acceptable use #

You agree to use Vessly only for lawful purposes and only to store information you have the right to store. You may not:

  • try to access another person's data or another fleet without an invitation;
  • probe, overload, scrape or interfere with our servers, or send automated traffic to them;
  • circumvent subscriptions, quotas or the App Check protection;
  • reverse-engineer the app beyond what applicable law permits;
  • use AI Mechanic to generate content unrelated to boats at volume, or to attempt to extract the model's instructions;
  • use Vessly in a way that harms others or breaks the store rules under which you obtained it.

We may suspend or close a Fleet account that breaches these terms. Where reasonable we will warn you first.

8. Intellectual property #

The Vessly apps, this website, the Vessly name and logo, and the designs and texts in them belong to GenX Development or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, under these terms and the store's terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or rent any part of the app, or remove any notices from it. Third-party components are used under their own open-source licences, listed in the app.

9. Warranty and liability #

Vessly is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Maintenance tasks, hour counters, reminders and AI Mechanic are aids to your own seamanship: they do not replace manufacturer service schedules, professional surveys or your own judgment.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damage to vessels, engines or equipment, for injury, for missed or incorrect maintenance, for loss of data, or for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of Vessly. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event.

Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived by agreement.

10. Termination #

You can stop using Vessly at any time, delete all data from your phone in Settings, and delete your Fleet account in Settings → Fleet → Account. We may end these terms for you if you seriously or repeatedly breach them, or if we discontinue a service; in that case we will give reasonable notice where possible and your data on your phone is unaffected. Sections 5, 8, 9 and 11 survive termination.

11. Governing law and disputes #

These terms are governed by the laws of KARAR-BEKLİYOR without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of that jurisdiction have jurisdiction, unless the consumer law of your country of residence gives you a right to a different forum.

Before going to court, please contact us: most problems are solved by e-mail within days. If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.

12. Changes and contact #

We may update these terms as the app evolves. The date at the top changes with each version, and meaningful changes are announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Vessly after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, stop using the app and, for Fleet, delete your account.
